Close to Porangahau in southern Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, stands an insubstantial hill with an excessively really extensive title. The hill is referred to as “Taumata whakatangi hangakoauau o tamatea turi pukakapiki maunga horo nuku pokai whenua kitanatahu”, which interprets roughly to “the summit the place Tamatea, the person with the large knees, who slid, climbed and swallowed mountains, performed his flute to his beloved one.” For brevity, it’s ceaselessly shortened to Taumata.
